By means of the Mental Health centers (osakidetza) or the private psichiatry net.

Which is the profile of a user of Eragintza?
Previous contact between the Mental Health Team and Eragintza (Derivational Protocole). More than 20 years old. Therapeutic fullfilment and mentally stable. Motivation, Familiar or Social support. Also conficting attitude.

Should I pay a menbership fee?
The rehabilitation offered by Eragintza is free.

Which are the resources of the Foundation?
Eragintza has social and work rehabilitation center in Bilbao, where the reception and valuing of the people takes place; Eragintza offers basic, social and work formation, psichological support and support in finding and keeping a competitive job.

Eragintza has five more occupational centers: framing, gardening, hostaging, cableing, and washing. In this centers, users learn a handicraft and develop activities intended to the open market.

Finally, Lavanindu S.L. is a special center for employment, which belong to Eragintza. In Lavanindu S.L. about 50 mentally ill people work in industrial washing, with hotels, hospitals, and residences as customers.

Which activities are avalable?
On the one hand, the basic formation, which includes the following courses:

•  Basic English course

•  Advanced English course

•  Initiation Basque course

•  Medium Basque course

•  Advance Basque course

•  General knowledge course

•  Internet: basic elements course

•  Painting course

•  Maquette-making: image handling, desing, computer maquette-making course

•  Magazine course: coordination, making reports and desingn of Euritakoa Magazine (mean of information about other ways and servicies leading to the insertion of people affected by mental disorders).

Social and work formation also available: 

Goals of social and work formation course:

•  Learn some basic social skills and technics to face stress in order to ease the user’s integration in to the work.

•  Go deeper into each person’s vocational interests in a realistic way, all based on his/her skills and abilities and also on the sort of work available.

Display every possible resource from the users to find a job by themselves.

And finally, work formation course:

Eragintza completes its formation program through the technical enabling of users to fullfil several activities.

•  Computer course

Due to the proliferation of informatics as a basic tool in any job, we have organized a 356h long course for three different groups (16 people each). Around september 15th we started with the formation of other three groups of users, this course includes basic instructions for the use internet. New this year, we have added to the program called EQUAL, a course about informatic specially directed to those people who are looking for a job but lack of knowledge about computers.

•  Preparing opposition exams

This year, we keep organizing courses to prepare opposition exams for the Public Institutions, particulary for jobs such as “Basque Health Service” subordinates, hospital wardens, and telephone operators. This is necessary to allow different ways towards the getting of a job.

•  Emotional intelligence for work

We considered interesant to develop such a current topic: how to reach a higher work efficiency by handling emotions adecuately and also by knowing other people’s emotions. Throughout the course several keys are given, in order to develop determinated skills, self-knowledge motivation, empathy and team work.

What is an occupational center?
It is a service aimed to improve the psichosomatic adjustment of disabled people by means of work, along with their own social environment. An essential goal is the result of their work; their organisation, discipline and the technics used to set it. However, this is subordinate to the preceding goal.

How many occupational centers belong to Eragintza?
Eragintza has five occupational centers: framing, hostaging, gardening, cabling, and washing. In this occupational center, users learn a handicraft and display activities directed to the open market.

What is an Employment Special Center?
According to the article no.42. of the Spanish Law for Integration of disabled people, the Employment Special Centers are those whose main goal is to develop a productive work, while participating regularly in market operations. They must also grant a rewarded employment. At the same time it should be a mean of integration for the biggest number of disabled people to the normal labour market.

Is there any employment support service available in Eragintza?
Yes, there is. Its goal is to help find a job and then help keep it. We have a psichologist in charge of this area.

What is a job-club?
The goal is to promote the active search of a job, in groups, by the users in this phase of their social and labour rehabilition. Giving an individual assistance to cover all the implicit actions of the active search of employment (Evaluation and supervision, vocational orientation; Knowledge and handling of information sources about the market and the offers and labour exchange. Making-up C.V. and letters of presentation, mailing, forms and applications; Internet, telephonic management, labour interviews, etc...) with the material resources necessary (appropriate location, computer with internet access, phone availability...)
